We’re very proud to announce our upcoming 2016 season which includes Alice Isn’t All There, based on Lewis Carol’s Alice in Wonderland, Twist, inspired by Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist, and Matchsticks, based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Match Girl.
Alice Isn’t All There, which originally opened our theater in 2014, is a musical comedy with a book, music, and lyrics by our award-winning writer/composer Brazillia R. Kreep (a.k.a Richard O’Donnell), and will open this June for a two-week run. Originally staged as Reader’s Theater, this Alice will be a fully staged production with new arrangements and orchestrations by our very own Ogdensburg Free Academy student Ryan C. McNally.
In October, our brand new production of Twist, a musical comedy with a book, music and lyrics by Brazillia R. Kreep with additional music by O’Donnell & McNally, will also play for two weekends. In our steampunk-style production the infamous Artful Dodger, Mr. Bumble and Fagin return but Oliver is now Olivia (gender-bending is our trademark), and our adaptation promises to be quite the musical comedy romp.
In December, the Christmas season will receive a delightful family entertainment with the musical Matchsticks, whereby a young girl sells matchsticks on the streets of New York during one of the coldest nights of winter. With each strike of her match, a lavish Christmas scene appears to keep the little match girl in good spirits. Traditional carols and Christmas stories fill the stage in this musical for the entire family.
